Long Overdue!

Hi guys, it’s been a while! I wanted to write a post and let you know I’m still here. Life has just been a little busy and unfortunately, I did let my blog suffer a little. I’m going to try my best to keep up with the posts and post as frequently as I can.

A few life updates

So, 2018 was a very difficult year for me but it taught me a great deal about myself. I learnt how strong and determined I can be and most importantly that things, however good or bad happen for a reason and within the process of good or bad you will learn something.  Anyway, moving on.

On to diabetes news

I got a new pump and I was totally not ready to give up my Animas Vibe but c’est la vie. I now have a Metronic MiniMed 640g and yes it has taken some getting used to and I’m still getting used to it but it has been a good substitute for my previous pump.

A couple of months in and this happened ……

Diaversary – which was the 1st of January 2019.

YAY HAPPY 24th DIAVERSARY to me. It’s amazing how long I’ve lived with this condition. I don’t usually do anything on my dia day but it’s always an opportunity for me to reflect on my life thus far. My struggles and achievements combined are all important to being able to keep a positive mind. I’m excited for the future and what god has in store for me with my diabetes.

So, this diaversary, I kind of combined a few things together. I spent my birthday, new year and my diaversary in Barcelona, Spain. Some much-needed time away torecollect and find me again. I enjoyed every minute of the vacay and it’s aplace I’ll visit again. Its filled with beautiful architecture, warm andwelcoming people and I’ve never eaten so many types of delicious foods all inone place before. Enough rambling let me show you a few shots.

I recently went back to medical school and it has been the best decision I’ve made so far this year. As you can imagine, between school, diabetes and being mum I’m extremely busy but honestly i’m loving every minute of it. I’ll keep you updated on how it’s going. Until then, I’ll be working my butt off and looking after these two munchkins.

Amina xx
